The one who wishes to escape from doubt Should be attentive and alert; Looking at mind and body both, He should see the causes and the origins.
-Patisambbida Magga To study the buddha way is to study the self. To study the self is to forget the self. To forget the self is to be actualized by myriad things. The Buddha taught:
"Do not pursue the past. Do not lose yourself in the future. The past no longer is. The future has not yet come. Looking deeply at life as it is. In the very here and now, the practitioner dwells in stability and freedom. We must be diligent today. To wait until tomorrow is too late. Death comes unexpectedly. How can we bargain with it? The sage calls a person who knows how to dwell in mindfulness night and day 'one who knows the better way to live alone.'"

So don't be in a hurry and try to push or rush your practice. Do your meditation gently and gradually step by step. In regard to peacefulness, if you become peaceful, then accept it; if you don't become peaceful, then accept that also. That's the nature of the mind. We must find our our own practice and persistently keep at it.
-Ajahn Chah, "Bodhinyana"
SELF-REFLECTION COLUMN:- ARE WE HAPPY WHEN WE GET ANGRY WITH SOMEONE?Happiness cannot come from hatred or anger. Nobody can say, "Today I am happy because this morning I was very angry." On the contrary, people feel uneasy and sad and say, "Today I am not happy because I lost my temper this morning." Through kindness, whether at our own level or at the national and international level, through mutual understanding and through mutual respect, we will get peace, we will get happiness, and we will get genuine satisfaction.
